The Rentstart Journals volume 1 - Garden Restoration

At Rentstart, we are constantly motivated by the creativity and commitment of our clients. A particularly impressive example comes from one of our shared properties, where a new tenant led his housemates to completely transform their communal garden into a thriving outdoor space.

Maintaining communal areas in shared houses can be particularly challenging, often leading to neglected spaces. However, the residents of this property have done quite the opposite! They have worked collaboratively to turn their garden into a welcoming space, proving the incredible power of community and cooperation. Their garden is now flourishing, with shrubs, newly seeded grass, flowers, and a pergola - bringing life to their outdoor space.

“I Like living in a nice place. The end of the garden was a tip, a big pile of scrap materials – looked like a dump. I felt like it needed doing and I had the time. Now it looks like a lawn, much tidier. Mostly I did it myself, with help from the other guys.”

Unnamed Tenant who led the Gardening Project

What makes this transformation even more remarkable is that the initiative came entirely from the tenants themselves. They organized, planned, and executed the garden makeover. Their proactive approach and teamwork have turned the garden into a beautiful and functional space, reflecting their dedication and resourcefulness.

This transformation goes beyond just aesthetics. It represents a sense of ownership among the residents. By taking care of their environment, they are fostering a positive community spirit and creating a home they can feel proud of. The garden has become a place where they can relax and enjoy the outdoors, which is especially important for mental well-being.

At Rentstart, we support and appreciate the efforts of our clients to create and maintain their living spaces. This is just one example of our clients giving back from the support Rentstart provides.
