Do What You Love

On Saturday 15th March at 8pm, I began a non-stop 24 hour vinyl DJ marathon to raise money for Rentstart. It was a daunting challenge; playing records in a pub, non-stop, from 8pm to 8pm. This would mean I would be awake for around 40 hours! I had the support of my colleagues at Rentstart, the Walton Village Pub, Eel Pie Records, Radio Jackie, Brooklands Radio and BBC Radio Surrey. I was nervous but very excited!

And it was a brilliant time! The pub was packed on Saturday night and Sunday afternoon, and playing records in an empty pub at 4 am was a unique experience too! So far over £2,200 has been donated -  an excellent result!

And that’s how easy it is to do the things you love to raise money for Rentstart. DJ’ing on vinyl is my passion, and I found a way to use it to fundraise.  Whatever your passion is -  running, sewing, gardening, cycling, dancing, baking, whatever it is - you could be a fundraising superstar for Rentstart just by doing the things you love to do.

If you have an idea, let me know and I would be absolutely delighted to support you in any fundraising you wanted to do!

At Rentstart we rely on donations and fundraising to be able to work with local people facing and experiencing homelessness -  you can be part of that work!

Drop me a line at events@rentstart.org.uk and lets start your fundraising journey!
